Job Description

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Attorney to join our team at Independent Living Systems (ILS). ILS, along with its affiliated health plans known as Florida Community Care and Florida Complete Care, is committed to promoting a higher quality of life and maximizing independence for all vulnerable populations. As an Attorney, you will be responsible for providing legal advice and representation to our organization on a variety of legal matters. Your primary focus will be on ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, as well as managing legal risks. You will also be responsible for drafting and reviewing legal documents/contracts, and representing the organization in legal proceedings. Your work will have a significant impact on the success of our organization.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
  • Must have active license to practice law in Florida and be a member in good standing of the Florida Bar
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on health care law
  • Strong knowledge of health care laws and regulations
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a large health care organization
  • Experience with Medicare and Medicaid regulations
  • Experience with health care compliance programs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal advice and representation to the organization on a variety of legal matters
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Manage legal risks
  • Draft and review legal documents/contracts
  • Represents the organization in legal proceedings

Skills:

As an Attorney, you will use your strong analytical and problem-solving skills to provide legal advice and representation to our organization. You will also use your excellent written and verbal communication skills to draft and review legal documents/contracts, and represent the organization in legal proceedings. Your knowledge of health care laws and regulations will be essential in ensuring compliance and managing legal risks. Additionally, your ability to work independently and as part of a team will be critical in achieving success in this role.
