Recent graduates will be considered if they have gained direct family law exposure through internships, clinics, clerkships, or similar experience. Responsibilities
- Manage family law matters involving divorce, custody, child support, adoption, and related issues
- Prepare pleadings, motions, agreements, discovery responses, and other legal documents
- Appear in hearings, mediations, and court proceedings based on experience level
- Assist with negotiations, litigation strategy, and trial preparation
- Support occasional estate planning matters such as wills, powers of attorney, and related documents
- Maintain professional, compassionate communication with clients throughout their matters
- Work closely with paralegals and staff to keep files moving efficiently
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Licensed to practice law or pending bar admission in New York
- Family law experience through internships, clinics, clerkships, or prior employment strongly preferred
- Candidates with related legal experience and a demonstrated interest in family law will also be considered
- Strong written, verbal, and organizational skills
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and contribute as part of a team
