Business Immigration Paralegal

The ideal candidate is a team player and self-starter, who works well in a fast-paced, yet supportive environment, is detail-oriented, and is passionate about advocating for immigrant rights. Excellent organizational skills, superior writing ability and precise attention to detail is required. 

Prior experience handling Extraordinary Ability (O-1) and National Interest Waiver (NIW) Visa types preferred but not required.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure that immigration documentation is drafted, organized, and filed in a thorough and timely manner; 
  • Draft responsive/ informational emails and letters for attorney; 
  • Draft exhibit tables and organize exhibits;
  • Respond to client and foreign national (FN) inquiries;
  • Inform attorney and clients (employers and FNs) of important matters, e.g., case status, filing deadlines;
  • Implement appropriate immigration strategies based on discussion with attorney; 
  • Research issues and provide results to attorney;
  • Organize material for attorney teleconferences;
  • Provide substantive comments regarding templates; 
  • Responsible for “touching” each case on docket every week and following up with each client weekly as appropriate;  
  • Ensure that database records (timelines, status documents) are up to date and accurate;
  • Identify hard copy files for closure.

 

 Required education and experience:

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years' experience in business immigration law (i.e., H-1B, L-1, E-2, O-1, J-1, NIW, EB-1, PERM).
