About the Role:
Were on the hunt for a dynamic Business Litigation Attorney to join the hive on behalf of our client. In this role, youll take ownership of complex litigation cases, focusing on areas like real estate, trademarks, securities, and corporate disputes. If youre passionate about litigation and have a proven track record in Texas courts, we want to meet you!
Your Mission:
- Litigate High-Stakes Cases: Manage complex business litigation and arbitration cases, including partnership and shareholder disputes, IP infringement, and contractual conflicts (business litigation, trial experience).
- Develop Real Estate Litigation Strategies: Handle developer litigation, broker defense, and partnership disputes within real estate (real estate litigation, commercial contracts).
- Advocate in Texas Courts: Conduct hearings, depositions, and trials with familiarity of Texas rules and procedures (trial experience, Texas court familiarity).
- Master Legal Drafting: Create sophisticated legal documents with accuracy and precision (legal drafting, attention to detail).
Core Competencies:
- Trial Skills: Proven experience with hearings, depositions, and courtroom proceedings.
- Complex Business Litigation: Skilled in disputes over partnerships, shareholder issues, trade secrets, IP, and non-compete agreements.
- Real Estate Litigation: Familiar with developer disputes, broker defense, and real estate lender cases.
- Legal Writing: Proficient in complex legal drafting for high-stakes cases.
What You Bring:
- Qualifications: JD and a minimum of 4-6 years experience in complex business litigation, preferably with Amlaw200 experience.
- Texas Court Experience: Strong familiarity with Texas court procedures and rules; must be based in or willing to relocate to Austin, Texas.
- Litigation Skills: Expertise in trial settings, complex legal disputes, and detailed legal drafting.
- Additional Skills: Exceptional communication, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
Skills Required:
- Business Litigation: Complex commercial disputes, arbitration, shareholder conflicts
- Real Estate Litigation: Developer disputes, partnership issues, broker defense
- Trial and Deposition Management: Conducting court hearings, depositions, trial preparation
- Legal Drafting: Strong legal writing, drafting skills
Certifications:
- State Bar of Texas (required)
- Additional certifications in litigation or trial advocacy are a plus
Education:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
