The immigration paralegal will prepare or file online all USCIS forms and draft supporting legal letters for all types of visas/applications/petitions.

Essential Functions

• Assisting and supporting attorney in the preparation and filing of immigration applications, including immigrant visa petitions, applications for permanent residency, naturalization applications, including PERMs, Preference Petitions and Adjustment of Status Applications.

• Liaising with relevant government agencies including USCIS, ICE, CBP, US Department of State, and US Department of Labor

• Analyze, review and organize documents and data from materials produced; and, prepare/coordinate document production and responses to requests.

• Prepare job descriptions.

• Assisting attorney with gathering evidence, preparing declarations and supporting documents, preparing evidence and exhibits, and complying with procedural requirements and filing deadlines for cases in the Immigration Court

• Assisting and supporting attorney in obtaining civil and criminal court records for both immigration matters

• Analyze and review case details and determine future actions

• Prepare responses to audit requests.

• Demonstrate basic strategic thinking and initiative with case assignments.

• Maintain calendars, provide attorney billing/invoice processing support, complete reports and enter time records and create new file and update client matter reports.

• Address client case status inquiries, including steps in process remaining, processing times, and consular appointment issues.

Qualifications/Skills Required

• Ability to manage client relationships for high-volume clients and complex projects under short deadlines

• Strong attention to detail

• Proficiency with various technology platforms, including Office 365, Document Management Systems and PDF Software

• Communicate effectively in oral and written English

• Strong organizational and project management skills

• Initiative, team orientation and professionalism

• Ability to work independently, multi-task, and prioritize assignments in a fast-paced environment

• Exceptional writing skills

Educational Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree required, any field but Social Sciences preferred

• Paralegal Certificate a plus
