Job Description

Overview

Nelson Mullins, an AmLaw 60 firm, is seeking an experienced Immigration Specialist/Paralegal to support its business immigration practice in our Atlanta office. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and at least five years of experience handling employment-based immigration matters. This includes preparing H-1B, L-1, E, and TN visa petitions, I-140 immigrant petitions, and Adjustment of Status (AOS) applications. Strong experience with PERM labor certification filings is required.

A Day in the Life

Tasks performed may include assisting with employment-based cases, as well as some family-based and naturalization cases. Responsibilities also include drafting forms and support letters for review by attorneys and senior team members; preparing petition and application packages for final review and signature by attorneys before submission to government agencies; organizing and maintaining accurate records in immigration case management systems for all assigned matters; reviewing intake documentation needed for specific case types to ensure accuracy and completeness; and performing statutory, regulatory, case law, and public records research to understand legal requirements that apply to specific cases, when necessary.

We Know You

Experience with Immigration Tracker, INSZoom, or similar immigration case management software is highly desired. Candidates should demonstrate excellent case management and organizational skills, be proficient with technology, and possess strong communication and writing abilities with close attention to detail. Experience preparing responses to both nonimmigrant (NIV) and immigrant (IV) Requests for Evidence (RFEs) is required. Korean fluency or bilingual proficiency in Korean is a strong asset and will support communication with clients and review of Korean-language documentation. A paralegal certification or a degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.
