  • Processes open records requests, including preventing, restricting and/or regulating disclosure of privileged, exempt and/or confidential information pursuant to the Texas Public Information Act.
  • Assist, as needed, with management of mental health commitment cases.
  • Acts as a liaison between attorneys, courts, other departments and agencies, as well as the Public.
  • Prepares and processes legal correspondence and documents, as well as mails, faxes, and arranges delivery of legal papers to parties as directed.
  • Assists or instructs other employees with their duties.
  • As needed, serves as notary public.
  • Reviews subpoena and deposition notices.
  • Sets up and maintains general counsel files and research files.
  • Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma/GED.
  • 3 years job related experience.
  • Strong computer and typing skills (40 wpm). 
  • Strong verbal skills; ability to interact effectively with other employees and the public.

STARTING SALARY RANGE: $17.95 - $22.44 hourly based on qualifications

CLOSING DATE: Upon filling position
