JOB SUMMARY

This paralegal position is part of the Consumer Services practice group (“Group”) of the Law Department providing direct support to attorneys and assisting the Loyalty Marketing team with reviewing consumer marketing collateral and updating Marriott Bonvoy terms and conditions. The role will include drafting and negotiating contracts with representatives from Loyalty and Enterprise Partnership teams, reviewing cobranded credit card marketing materials, and collaborating with colleagues on various legal matters. Additionally, the position requires effective communication with Marriott business leaders, updating the Law department database, and undertaking special assignments related to contract documentation and analysis.

 

CANDIDATE PROFILE 

Education and Experience 

Required

  • Four-year college degree and work experience of one year, OR Two-year college degree and minimum relevant work experience of three years, OR at least ten years of relevant work experience as a paralegal. 
  • Strong project management skills, and ability to meet simultaneous deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with database functionality and operation. 
  • Ability to routinely work from the HQ office in Bethesda.
  • Flexibility for overtime. 

               

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES 

  • Provide direct support to the attorneys and assist other members of the Group in the performance of their duties and responsibilities.
  • Assist Loyalty Marketing team with review of consumer marketing collateral and updates/edits to Marriott Bonvoy terms and conditions.
  • Communicate with representatives of Loyalty and Enterprise Partnership teams, including preparation of draft contracts, receiving, and reviewing contract edits, negotiating changes, and coordinating the finalization and execution of the documents.
  • Review cobranded credit card marketing collateral and assist in drafting credit card product terms and conditions related to Marriott Bonvoy loyalty benefits for new domestic and international credit card products. 
  • Collaborate with colleagues within the Law Department and work effectively with internal clients and business partners across regional teams.
  • Identify relevant issues in preparation and review of draft partnership contracts and coordinate with colleagues and across the business on tax, intellectual property, data privacy, and cybersecurity matters.
  • Work directly with Marriott business leaders.
  • Draft documents, using standard forms and templates.
  • Update Law department database(s) to reflect executed transactions.
  • Undertake special assignments, including research, review, and analysis of contract documentation and other issues.

 

The hourly pay range for this position is $33.94 to $50.00.
