Paralegal / File Clerk (Civil Litigation)

We are seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy Paralegal /File Clerk to join our Boston, MA office. This is a full-time position that blends critical paralegal responsibilities with hands-on document and file management. You'll play a vital role supporting our legal team on diverse and complex civil litigation matters, including construction, transportation, premises liability, products liability, cybersecurity, business litigation, and education law. This position offers an annual salary of $48,000 - $50,000.

A Day in the Life of a Paralegal/File Clerk

Your day may start with opening and organizing incoming case files, ensuring documents are accurately logged, scanned, and filed (both digitally and physically). You'll assist attorneys by drafting pleadings, managing discovery, preparing subpoenas, and maintaining case calendars.

You'll also be responsible for:

  • Cataloging, retrieving, and maintaining case-related files
  • Managing both electronic and hard copy filing systems
  • Assisting with document production and trial preparation
  • Summarizing depositions and reviewing records
  • Ensuring deadlines and court filing requirements are met

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a balance of administrative precision and substantive legal work.

What Matters Most

  • Strong organizational skills and experience managing file systems
  • Working knowledge of civil litigation procedures and terminology
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and PDF software
  • Comfortable with tasks such as Bates stamping, scanning, merging/separating PDFs, and naming conventions
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and maintain meticulous attention to detail
  • A proactive and team-oriented mindset
  • Paralegal experience a plus; willing to train the right candidate
