The Vice President and Associate General Counsel of Leasing and Asset Management will play an essential role in the legal department, overseeing the company's leasing and asset management activities. The ideal candidate will possess extensive legal expertise, exceptional leadership skills, and a deep understanding of commercial real estate transactions. This position reports directly to the General Counsel and will collaborate closely with senior management to ensure the company's strategic objectives are achieved.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide expert legal counsel on all leasing and asset management matters, including drafting, negotiating, and reviewing lease agreements, amendments, and related documents.
Supervise and mentor junior attorneys and legal staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Advise on legal issues related to property management, tenant relations, and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Oversee and manage litigation and disputes related to leasing and asset management, working closely with outside counsel as necessary.
Collaborate with the finance, operations, and asset management teams to support and facilitate real estate transactions and initiatives.
Ensure all lease documentation and processes align with company policies and strategic goals.
Develop and implement legal strategies to mitigate risks and protect the company's interests in leasing and asset management activities.
Stay current with industry trends, legal developments, and best practices in leasing and asset management.
Assist in the preparation and presentation of reports to senior management and the board of directors as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Active bar membership in good standing.
Minimum of 10 years of legal experience, with a focus on real estate Leasing and Asset Management.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
High ethical standards and a commitment to integrity and professionalism.
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Proven ability to provide strategic legal advice and develop effective risk management strategies.
Strong knowledge of real estate laws, leasing practices, and asset management principles.
Strong leadership and management capabilities, with a commitment to fostering a positive team culture.
Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
