Description
Coordinates collection and reporting of data related to child abuse, sexual and other assault cases between the District Attorney’s Office and partner agencies including local and state law enforcement agencies, hospitals, victim advocate and other agencies. to promote and provide effective and efficient prosecution of offenders.
Responsibilities
1. Serves as liaison between staff, management, other departments, law enforcement to facilitate interaction and flow of information to ensure goals, objectives and mission are communicated to staff. Serves as primary contact between parties including status of case(s).
2. Performs complex administrative duties to include researching, gathering material, analyzing data, obtaining medical, psychiatric and or criminal history, pen packs, etc., and tracking data including number of cases indicted, tried, result, number of defendants with prior felonies, injury to a child, abuse and/or sexual offenses.
3. Performs complex administrative duties to include researching, gathering material, analyzing data, obtaining medical, psychiatric and or criminal history, pen packs, etc., and tracking data including number of cases indicted, tried, result, number of defendants with prior felonies, injury to a child, abuse and/or sexual offenses.
4. As primary victim/witness contact maintains all demographic information, explains the court/trial system, Crime Victims Compensation information, makes referral to crisis counseling, Kids in Court as needed. Updates victim(s)/witnesses on case/trial status. maintaining contact with witnesses, agencies, victims and their families. May assist in obtaining location information
for missing victims/witnesses. May coordinate Videotaping Protocol Committee.
5. Coordinates victim(s)/witness (es) travel and arrival at court with the prosecutor and investigative agencies including CPS, INS and/or victim witness department. Explains reimbursement procedures for expenses incurred by victim/witnesses. May coordinate support for child victims and families during the court process and court accompaniment if requested.
6. Provides additional day-to-day administrative support services to the department.
7. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education, Experience and Training:
Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Accounting, Finance, Management Information Systems, or in a job related field of study.
Special Requirements:
Skilled in the use of standard software applications. Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, departments and the general public.
Physical/Environmental Requirements:
Standard office environment.
