The Will Group Legal Department Intern

Internship Summary:

This internship provides hands-on experience in corporate, employment, contract, and compliance law. The ideal candidate is a law student with a keen interest in corporate legal matters and strong analytical and research skills.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Conduct legal research and draft memoranda on various legal issues.
  • Assist in reviewing, drafting, and organizing contracts, policies, and agreements.
  • Support the legal team in corporate governance, compliance, and regulatory matters.
  • Attend meetings, take notes, and summarize key legal discussions.
  • Help with document review.
  • Collaborate with internal teams on legal-related projects and risk assessments.
  • Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends.
  • Complies with established company work rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Actively engages with other members of the company to continuously strive to improve processes, create efficiencies, reduce costs, and increase profitability.
  • Cooperatively takes on other duties, roles, or responsibilities, as assigned.

Requested Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and legal research tools (Westlaw, LexisNexis).
  • Ability to meet all assigned deadlines.

Education Qualifications:

  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited law school (1L, 2L, or 3L preferred).

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer.
  • Lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access various departments of a given location.

Salary Range: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour commensurate with experience.
