Phillips Edison’s operating platform provides retail services including acquisition, redevelopment, leasing and management of grocery-anchored retail centers.

What you'll do: 

  • Conduct regular meetings with internal transactions departments to determine pipeline of projects and develop strategy;
  • Perform title and survey reviews and interpretations as needed to support the business;
  • Assist with litigation matters such as ADA, contract disputes and similar litigation
  • Draft requisite documents such as easements, letter agreements, estoppels and other agreements as needed with the support of the transactions legal team;
  • Help manage and coordinate activities for condemnation projects, including, but not limited to obtaining lender and tenant consents, valuation, and negotiating/contesting offer of award;
  • Provide legal advice on a wide range of legal issues arising in the operation and management of our portfolio of properties;
  • Advise internal departments on issues affecting portfolio of properties;
  • Provide advice on various real estate matters; and
  • Assist with such other matters as needed to support the VP, AGC and legal team.

What we're looking for 

  • A Juris Doctorate preferred.
  • Membership in at least one state bar
  • A minimum of 0-2 years of relevant experience working as a lawyer with a law firm, in-house legal department, or government agency with an emphasis in real estate
  • Excellent time management, written and verbal communication and strong problem-solving skills
  • Track record of success in professional and personal activities
  • Proven ability to work as a member of a team.
