Yuba Water Agency is seeking a Legal and Government Relations Intern for the 2025 summer season to work closely with our inhouse legal and government relations team.
The Agency’s primary responsibility is to act as a flood protection entity for the residents of Yuba County. Yuba Water Agency accomplishes this through our extensive water infrastructure which includes three (3) dams, an installed generation capacity of nearly 400MW, and a 200-year flood protection along the levees in South Yuba County. In this internship you will be exposed to the fifth tallest dam in the United States, the largest cast stainless Pelton wheels ever manufactured, and all the ancillary systems that keep them operating at the highest level.
Full time Monday - Friday, 32-40 hrs./week.
The internship will include, but is not limited to the areas of:
• Substantive legal work in the fields of water, flood, energy, environmental, construction, and public agency law
• Work on legislative and regulatory analysis and strategy
• Exposure to public water agency administration and operations
• Development and completion of an internship project to showcase skills developed during the internship
Minimum qualifications:
Current law school student (age 18 or above) or recent graduate preferred, admitted incoming law school student possible
GPA requirement 3.0 and above
Location:
Hybrid work is available, with two in-office days in Marysville, CA (one hour north of Sacramento)
Payrate:
Graduate student $24.50/hr.
