PurposeManage the design and delivery of educational programs/products in Paralegal and related fields for Extended Education Ventures.
Responsibilities- Oversee UT Austin’s professional education programs in Paralegal and related fields. Build overall program goals and strategy, develop project plans and budgets, and coordinate across the university to bring products to market. Maintain awareness of market needs and trends, and make product recommendations that will maximize outcomes.
- Serve as lead program instructor. Maintain regular engagement with other instructors to build community, address issues, and ensure fidelity of delivery. Facilitate webinars and information sessions. Design new and update existing curriculum. Collaborate with instructional designers to produce online content.
- Determine schedule of offerings, recruit and hire instructors, and coordinate with functional teams to support program delivery. Identify challenges for implementing the curriculum and proactively offer solutions to improve the end user experience. Collaborate with Extended Campus Custom Training group on the development and delivery of customized training projects for clients.
- Maintain and nurture the university’s relationship with the Capital Area Paralegal Association (CAPA). Ensure content and delivery is aligned with the latest updates in law and legal standards. Regularly attend paralegal advisory board meetings and have visible presence in the Austin legal community.
- Track and regularly report performance metrics, including financials. Identify when program is off-track in meeting identified goals and outcomes and proactively seek solutions.
Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of relevant experience with training. Paralegal or legal experience. Experience writing training materials. Ability to learn and teach content associated with a previously unknown topic. Theoretical and practical experience in training and development with a high level of proficiency in adult education acquired through experience. Ability to work with all age groups and educational levels. Must be flexible to meet changing schedules and/or work requirements. Professional demeanor. Excellent attendance and punctuality. Ability to travel.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred QualificationsJ.D. or extensive paralegal experience. Extensive training and development experience, previous experience with continuing and professional education programs and/or conferences. More than the required amount of training experience. Supervisory experience. Fluency in a foreign language. Experience in a higher education setting. Experience with online learning.
Salary Range$40,000 + depending on qualifications (amount prorated for 20 hours per week)
