We are seeking an experienced Claims Litigation Attorney to join our team. The successful candidate will analyze cases to determine facts, develop legal theories and strategies, identify potential exposure, develop and implement discovery plans, and prepare for court proceedings. This is a remote/hybrid position, with responsibilities including both managing a large caseload with minimal supervision, and providing legal opinions, advice, and guidance to management and Claims personnel.
Responsibilities:
Analyze cases to determine all pertinent facts and develop legal
theories/strategies in the defense of lawsuits
Identify potential exposure to policyholders or the Exchange
Develop and implement appropriate discovery plan and motions, as needed
Prepare for, attend, and defend all court proceedings related to cases,
including trials and arbitrations
Regularly communicate with policyholders and claims representatives
regarding case developments
Prepare and present legal opinions on claims issues
Participate in negotiation and settlement of cases with outside
parties/entities
Provide assistance in handling other attorneys’ files as needed
Prepare and present training programs for attorneys and Claims staff
Requirements:
JD degree from accredited law school
Licensed to practice law
4-6 years of insurance defense law required
Demonstrated ability to manage a complex workload and prioritize tasks
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently with minimal direct day-to-day supervision
Good grasp of trial procedures and the rules of the evidence
Valid Driver's License, acceptable Department of Motor Vehicles record and minimum liability insurance - Issued by State Required

The starting pay range for this position is:
$104,400.00 - $139,200.00Additionally, for full time positions, you will be eligible to participate in our incentive program based upon the achievement of organization, team and personal performance.
