Position Overview: GLP Attorneys is seeking a Legal Assistant to join our team in Tacoma. This position offers the potential for hybrid work following the successful completion of onboarding and training. This position will encompass a wide range of tasks. You will set up new client files, communicate with various parties, manage medical bill payments, address client queries, conduct client reviews, handle client correspondence, manage case records, assist in PIP claims, and ensure account balances are accurate, among other tasks.

Requirements

In this position, you will:

  • Work closely with the Partner/Attorney and their Senior Paralegal to support the legal team.
  • Provide comprehensive administrative and operational support to ensure cases are managed effectively and efficiently.
  • Set up new client files, manage case records, assist with PIP claims, and ensure account balances are accurate.
  • Communicate regularly with clients, healthcare providers, and other involved parties.
  • Handle client correspondence, address inquiries, and conduct client reviews.
  • Manage medical bill payments and support the tracking of related documentation.

 Qualified candidates should have experience including:

  • A high school diploma is required; advanced education or a paralegal certification is preferred. 
  • Experience working as a legal assistant or in a professional office setting is highly desired. 
  • Competency working with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). 
  • Prior experience in plaintiffs’ personal injury law is preferred.
  • Strong written communication skills and experience drafting professional correspondence.
  • Comfortable speaking with clients and healthcare providers over the phone and via email.
  • A detail-oriented approach, balanced with the ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • A team-oriented mindset and commitment to delivering excellent client service.

GLP Attorneys determines the compensation for positions using local, national, and industry-specific data. We evaluate external equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wages in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our firm. We strive to make competitive offers for new hires, allowing the new employee room for future growth. Compensation will be based on the applicant's location, experience level, education, and specialized knowledge and skills. An employee/candidate with a stronger skill set will receive higher pay.


The hourly base pay range for a non-exempt Legal Assistant in Western Washington is $23.00 - $26.00 per hour. This position is bonus eligible.


GLP Attorneys proudly offers a competitive total rewards package. In addition to the base rate and bonuses, the firm provides employees with vision, dental, and medical/Rx insurance (with the option to open a health savings account), life insurance, a firm-sponsored employee assistance program, and a 401 (k)-retirement plan with a discretionary safe harbor and profit-sharing feature. GLP Attorneys sponsors 100% of the employee premium for those enrolled in the HSA preferred medical plan ($3k deductible). The firm sponsors 25% of all medical dependent coverage. GLP Attorneys sponsors 75% of the employee premium for those enrolled on the vision plan and 25% for those enrolled on a dental plan. Employees are responsible for the premiums for dependent coverage on the vision and dental plans.


Additionally, employees receive ten vacation days per year, a floating birthday holiday, eight paid holidays plus one flexible holiday, and firm-sponsored paid “bonus days.” The firm promotes community involvement through its giving program and hosts regular luncheons and regional celebrations to foster connection.
