Position Summary

 

The Turnberry corporate summer internship program offers undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to gain real-world professional experience with a well-established South Florida company. The program is intended to develop the business leaders of tomorrow. Interns will gain exposure to senior leadership, work on meaningful projects, participate in learning and development opportunities and join in networking and social events with other Team Members and fellow interns.

 

The internship will be in person at our Aventura Mall corporate office beginning in May and ending in August. Interns will work full-time 40 hours per week during the 10-week program.


Responsibilities:

    The Legal Intern (this is a PAID program) will be reporting directly to the Corporate Counsel and will be handling both short-term and summer-long assignments depending on the

    needs of the Company, which may include:

  • Work on a variety of projects within our Corporate and Commercial law departments. Projects will be assigned based upon needs from the legal team and individual skills and interests
  • You will also have the opportunity to learn about day-to-day life of in-house counsel and what it means for us to serve as business partners to internal and external clients
  • Review and organizing corporate documents
  • Update key forms and other corporate formalities
  • Work with various departments obtaining information for drafting provisions in contracts (Real Estate, Service Agreements, etc.)
  • Performs other duties as required. This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying this position. Employees will be required to perform any other job-related duties assigned by their supervisor or management.


Qualifications:

  • Must be a 1st or 2nd year law student, enrolled at an accredited college or university
  • Ability to commit to a full-time schedule over 12 weeks (about 3 months) for internship period starting May
  • Must have reliable transportation and be able to commute to Corporate Office 
  • Demonstrates dependability when following instructions, responding to management direction, and completing tasks in a timely manner or notifying the appropriate person with an alternate plan
  • Prior internship experience within a related field

 

Requirements:

  • Strong academic record
  • Relevant coursework or prior experience related to the internship field.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, programming languages, and design software.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in completing tasks.
  • Eagerness to learn and contribute to the team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and tasks.
  • Legal eligibility to work in the country where the internship is located.
