First-Party Property Insurance Coverage Attorney
Location: New York, NY or Uniondale, NY (Hybrid)
Company Overview
A well-established law firm is seeking a Litigation Associate to join its Insurance Coverage practice. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex first-party property insurance coverage matters while collaborating with an experienced team of attorneys in a supportive, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and handle first-party property insurance coverage disputes
- Draft coverage opinions, pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda
- Conduct legal research and assist with case strategy
- Communicate with clients regarding policy interpretation and coverage positions
- Manage litigation matters and deadlines throughout the case lifecycle
Qualifications
- JD from an accredited law school
- Admission to the New York Bar
- Minimum of 3 years of litigation experience
- Interest or experience in first-party property insurance coverage (not insurance defense)
- Strong legal research and writing skills
- Excellent client communication and organizational skills
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $125,000 – $195,000 (based on experience)
- Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, life insurance, 401(k), and paid time off
- Hybrid schedule (3 days in office, 2 remote)
