Franchise/Corporate Paralegal 

Engel & Völkers is a global luxury brand specializing in residential and commercial real estate and yachting. Engel & Völkers Americas, Inc. supports a franchise network of premium residential real estate brokerages throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean and is responsible for the brand’s ongoing expansion in additional markets.

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our growing legal team in the Americas located on Park Avenue in New York City.  This position provides a great opportunity to assist on all relevant legal aspects needed for franchising. The ideal candidate has a “can do'' attitude and vivid interest in collaborating on a variety of legal matters in a growth focused company. We are a team of professionals passionate about our brand and are looking for a team player who shares the same values.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with preparing, reviewing, and management of franchise agreements, renewals, and amendments.
  • Manage document organization for the execution of franchise-related contracts as well as other business contracts. 
  • Assist with preparing and submitting state and federal franchise registrations and renewals (e.g., Franchise Disclosure Documents).  
  • Monitor franchisee compliance matters (including preparation of default, termination, and other compliance notices).
  • Liaise with internal departments to address contract-related inquiries and issues.
  • Monitor contract deadlines and ensure timely action.
  • Assist in the refinement of contract management policies and procedures.
  • Organize and maintain a comprehensive contract management system.
  • Conduct research as needed to support contract management and compliance efforts.
  • Prepare summaries, research memos and documentation as requested by the legal team.
  • Support the legal team in managing franchise disputes, litigation, or mediation processes.
  • Assist in the preparation of corporate filings, resolutions, and other governance documentation as needed.
  • Provide administrative support to the legal team, including scheduling, correspondence, and meeting coordination.
  • Handle contract execution processes and follow-up on pending matters.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal certification (preferred).
  • 2+ years of relevant experience, preferably with exposure to franchise law.

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills. 
  • Business savvy and confident under pressure. 
  • Flexible mindset, thriving in a “make it happen”, solution driven culture.
  • Ability to juggle and prioritize multiple, competing tasks and demands (and to seek supervisory assistance as appropriate), while at the same time maintaining high quality standards and without compromising attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite.

Compensation Range: $65,000 - $75,000. Offers to select candidates will be made on a fair and equitable basis, taking into account specific job-related skills and experience.
