Description

Supervising Attorney — Personal Injury Division

Location: South Carolina (Hybrid possible)

You’re an attorney who doesn’t just practice law — you lead with it.

You know how to drive results in high-stakes cases, but you also know that real leadership means raising the bar for others. You’ve mentored teams, managed tough conversations, and built a reputation for clarity, consistency, and client-centered results. You don’t dodge challenges — you solve them. And you do it all without sacrificing your edge, your ethics, or your empathy.

If this sounds like you, keep reading.

About Us

The Jeffcoat Firm is a respected South Carolina personal injury firm with a reputation for results, heart, and hustle. Our team of attorneys has recovered nearly $100 million for clients across the state — from Columbia and Greenville to Charleston and Myrtle Beach. But numbers only tell part of the story.

What sets us apart is how we get there: with humility, grit, and relentless advocacy for real people. Whether we’re in the courtroom or the conference room, we treat every case — and every client — like it matters. Because it does.

We reject ego. We embrace growth. We make no excuses — and expect the same from every team member.

Now, as we scale to meet increasing demand, we’re looking for a seasoned Supervising Attorney to bring structure, accountability, and strategic leadership to our personal injury division.

What You’ll Do

Lead a High-Performing Legal Team

  • Oversee a team of 8+ personal injury attorneys across pre-litigation and litigation.
  • Set and uphold clear legal standards — ensuring consistency, quality, and ethical excellence.
  • Provide tactical feedback, mentorship, and real-time coaching to attorneys at all levels.

Drive Operational Excellence

  • Own team performance metrics — including case velocity, revenue goals, and litigation success rates.
  • Identify bottlenecks and resolve them before they impact client outcomes.
  • Partner with firm leadership on workflow, staffing, and systemic improvements.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and development of legal talent.

Step In Strategically

  • Lead complex or high-impact cases as needed, from strategy through settlement or trial.
  • Review legal work product, discovery plans, pleadings, motions, and expert strategy.
  • Ensure communication standards are upheld across all client touchpoints.

Mentor and Develop

  • Provide thoughtful leadership and development for junior and mid-level attorneys.
  • Support our law student programs through mentorship and oversight.

Model the Culture

  • Lead with integrity, transparency, and urgency — and expect the same from your team.
  • Be a cultural touchstone: direct, fair, client-focused, and outcome-driven.

What You Bring

Experience

  • Active South Carolina Bar license (required).
  • 5–7+ years of plaintiff-side personal injury experience, including litigation.
  • 1+ years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Experience mentoring attorneys, managing teams, and navigating both high-volume and high-complexity cases.
  • Comfort with modern legal tech: Filevine, Salesforce, and AI-enhanced tools a plus.

Traits We Admire

  • Relentless accountability. You follow through. You expect results.
  • Strategic thinking. You see patterns, fix problems, and move fast.
  • Confident communication. You don’t shy away from hard conversations — and you know how to have them constructively.
  • Growth mindset. You lead with curiosity, adapt quickly, and welcome innovation.
  • Team-first. You check your ego, elevate others, and collaborate well.
  • High expectations. You believe excellence is a habit — not an act.

Why You’ll Love It Here

  • Leadership Opportunity — Take ownership of a growing legal department in a firm that values your input.
  • Firm with a Mission — Help real people rebuild their lives with fierce advocacy and honest counsel.
  • Cultural Fit That Feels Right — No drama. No fluff. Just a team of professionals who care, push each other, and win together.
  • Forward-Thinking Operations — From AI to analytics, we’re leveraging modern tools to stay ahead of the curve.

Benefits & Perks

  • Competitive salary + performance-based bonuses
  • Comprehensive health, dental & vision insurance
  • Life and disability insurance
  • 401(k) with firm support
  • Ongoing leadership training and professional development
  • Team retreats, regular all-hands, and a culture of connection

Ready to Take the Lead?
