The Pennsylvania Office of Small Business Advocate is actively seeking a driven and detail-oriented professional to join our initiative in providing specialized administrative legal support to our attorney's and leadership team as we assist small businesses with their utilities.

As a Legal Assistant 2, you will provide high level legal support and administrative expertise surrounding legal documents, while also assisting with drafting, formatting, and finalization of documents for the Legal Operations Unit. You will assist with the management of specialized internal legal systems for submission of annual and quarterly reporting, both internally and externally, working directly with and in compliance with all internal legal case management programmatic systems.

In addition, you will be responsible for daily legal document delivery and pickup, to include copying and distributing legal documents to the appropriate parties. Your role will be instrumental in supporting and maintaining all trial and pretrial matters and obtaining, assembling, and organizing documents pertinent to litigation and settlement.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 2 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to the employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the non-negotiable starting annual salary of $45,907.

Qualifications

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Legal Assistant 1; or
  • Four years of responsible clerical, investigative or enforcement work including one year of legal clerical support experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must possess four years of experience working in a legal office.
  • You must possess four years of experience providing legal administrative support to attorneys.
  • You must possess four years of experience preparing legal documents, managing case files, and handling confidential information with accuracy and professionalism.
  • You must possess four years of experience conducting legal research.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred

  • Paralegal experience
