Paralegal Support Specialist – DHS CISA

We are seeking a highly skilled and meticulous and highly organized Paralegal Support Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive paralegal support services to CISA OCC attorneys and legal support staff. This role involves managing cases, litigation, legal correspondence and review, record keeping, law library management, and providing various forms of legal administrative support. The candidate will use discretion and professional judgment to refer matters or questions requiring actions to the appropriate office or government employee.
Key Responsibilities:
• Case Management:
• Assist attorneys in managing cases and litigation processes.
• Maintain accurate and organized case files and records.
• Legal Correspondence and Review:
• Draft, review, and manage legal correspondence.
• Ensure all legal documents are accurate and comply with relevant regulations and guidelines.
• Record Keeping:
• Maintain and update legal records and databases.
• Ensure all records are stored securely and are easily retrievable.
• Law Library Management:
• Manage the organization and maintenance of the law library.
• Ensure all legal resources are up-to-date and accessible to legal staff.
• Legal Administrative Support:
• Provide administrative support to attorneys and legal support staff.
• Schedule meetings, prepare legal documents, and handle information requests.
• Use discretion and professional judgment to refer matters or questions requiring actions to the appropriate office or government employee.
Qualifications:
• Education: Associate's degree or higher in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 2-4 years of paralegal or legal administrative support experience. Experience with DHS is strongly preferred.
Skills:
• Strong understanding of legal terminology and processes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and legal research databases.
• Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Clearance: Must obtain and maintain favorable Public Trust
