SUMMARY
Provide administrative support in a variety of routine processes and office support functions. Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the Criminal or Civil Division under the program and technical guidance of the Criminal or Civil Supervisory Legal Assistant.
- Prepare a variety of legal documents and correspondence in final format.
- Assist attorneys in preparing for court. Scan discovery into an automated system.
- Maintain a court calendar, assemble trial and grand jury exhibits and notebooks.
- Maintain a variety of legal files. Ensure that legal documentation is maintained correctly within specific case files. Responsible for closing files to be stored onsite and shipping closed files to be archived offsite.
- Assist Attorneys and paralegal with the electronic filing of legal documents (Case Management/Electronic Case Files) with the Court (training to be provided).
- Review files and correct any omissions in records. Check all closed files to ensure the proper procedures have been followed and the closing process is complete.
- Assist the Administrative Division with special projects. This may include but is not limited to mail, move, court runs, etc.
- Serve as back-up receptionist.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience.
- General knowledge of office procedures and standard support processes.
- Experience using Microsoft Office 7 (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook) Adobe and other media type software.
- Must obtain and maintain any necessary security access and/or background checks.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is primarily performed in a professional office setting, including the normal office equipment (e.g., computer, fax machines, copier) and with a wide variety of people in differing functions, personalities, and abilities.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Position consists of sitting for long periods of time, using hands/fingers, handling, reaching with hands and arms, talking, hearing and seeing up close, at a distance, along the periphery, with depth perception and the ability to focus; occasional walking or standing, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and lifting boxes weighing up to 10 pounds. Moderate to extended periods of office work with heavy periods of computer usage. Compensation and Benefits package:
- Pay is: $23.94/hr
- SCA Health and Welfare Fringe: $4.93/hr paid toward employee-only medical insurance. Any remainder paid in cash in a bi-weekly paycheck.
