Job Duties and Responsibilities- This position involves utilizing legal, compliance, analytical, and administrative skills including reviewing and revising documents, researching a variety of topics, creating training materials, fulfilling auditing processes, managing projects, working on legal claims, and supervising initiatives within the legal and compliance departments.
- Review, and revise contracts, leases, service agreements and vendor agreements.
- Use templates to complete documentation packages associated with mergers, acquisitions and business growth.
- Work collaboratively with other departments to support and complete projects.
- Stay up-to-date on developments in healthcare law and compliance.
- Develop and revise policies, procedures, standards of practice and create associated training.
- Create project workflows, work collaboratively with others on projects, create and maintain project documentation and manage project completion at a fast pace.
- Successfully complete special projects associated with company growth.
- Work with a large amount of data, including medical records, to complete memos and audits.
- Use organization skills to keep track of tasks and deadlines for the department.
- Ensure department assignments and goals are met.
- Assist with reviewing, managing and responding to legal claims.
- Communicate with doctors, patients, insurance companies and other professional agencies in response to inquiries and requests for information.
- Perform general office duties as needed, including answering phones, scheduling, and maintaining files.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Minimum 1 year of healthcare law experience or healthcare compliance experience, including knowledge of legal & medical terminology.
- Have experience reviewing and revising contracts, project management experience, and effective research, & writing skills.
- Ability to work effectively in an independent setting, as well as collaboratively, to manage multiple or competing priorities.
- Must be able to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and tact.
- Ability to accurately identify and resolve or escalate issues in a timely manner.
- Excellent written communication skills, research skills, and organizational skills.
- Must be passionate about helping others, learning, and contributing.
- Understand legal and medical terminology with ability to research laws, regulations, and procedures.
- Able to communicate clearly, concisely, and respectfully, one on one and in a group setting, to gather and present information accurately.
- Exceptional time management skills and attention to detail to meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records systems.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel; and Adobe.
- Experience working in fast-paced, collaborative, professional environment is preferred.
Education:
High school Diploma/GED required
Physical Requirements:
