ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced real estate attorney to join our team as Associate General Counsel (Real Estate). This position is anticipated to report to the Chief Legal Officer. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, organized, strategic and a team player. This position is located in our corporate headquarters in Miami, Florida – remote candidates are not being considered at this time.
Some of the key responsibilities you should expect are the following:
- Oversee and manage real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, development projects and leasing transactions.
- Lead all legal efforts related to the financing and joint venture agreements.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of contracts, including purchase and sale agreements, lease agreements, joint venture agreements, partnership agreements, loan agreements, estoppels, subordination and non-disturbance agreements, and other contracts related to acquisition, disposition, development or leasing of property.
- Provide guidance on obtaining regulatory approvals, permits, and maintaining compliance with industry standards.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, including corporate development, operations, asset management and finance teams, to align legal strategies with business goals and project timelines.
- Manage and oversee external counsel on energy projects and financing transactions.
- Other duties as assigned.
ABOUT YOU
- At least 6 years of experience as a real estate attorney. Experience with the acquisition and development of data center sites and / or powered land is highly desirable.
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a top-ranked law school and active membership in at least one state bar.
- In-depth knowledge of real estate law, financing and joint ventures.
- Proven ability to negotiate complex real estate and financing agreements effectively.
- Experience conducting due diligence for real estate transactions.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to provide clear, practical legal advice
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
