What You'll Do:
Legal College Intern responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Support the Office of Legal Counsel and assist the department in its mission
- Work under immediate supervision of the Acting Chief Legal Counsel; work as part of the Legal team with each attorney and each Senior Legal Assistant
- Assist staff in coordinating legal activities
- Research, writing, and assisting with projects
- Assist with projects needing legal research
- Research, analyze, investigate and draft legal documents
- Prepare, review and edit legal correspondence, memoranda and other legal documents under guidance of supervisor
- Research and analyze legal sources such as statutes, case law, administrative records, opinions, articles, treaties, policies, and rules and regulations
- Attend and observe administrative hearings
- Assist attorneys and Senior Legal Assistants with case management
- Follow policies and rules to ensure security and confidentiality of sensitive and/or protected information
- Comply with all agency policies and procedures, including those pertaining to ethics and integrity
- Apply your knowledge of administrative law
- Use Lexis/Nexis legal research tools
- Perform other duties as directed
This internship is eligible for hybrid work pursuant to the Ohio Lottery Commission’s Teleworking Policy, which incorporates both telework and in-office work days. If approved, the successful candidate will be required to comply with the requirements established in the Ohio Lottery Commission’s telework agreement and policy.
Work Hours\: Part-time variable work schedule between the hours of 8\:00am-5\:00pm, Monday-Friday; may work up to 29 hours per week.
