Job Description
INTRODUCTION:
ABC’s internship program is designed to empower students and graduates by helping jump-start their careers and sharpen skills while creating meaningful relationships. This is a 8 week internship beginning in June of 2025. We are looking for motivated students & graduates that bring fresh thinking, innovation and diversity of thought to ABC.
Location: Candidates must be able to commute to our office in Frisco, TX.
AS LEGAL INTERN, YOU WILL:
With ABC attorneys and compliance professionals work with business lines on specific projects
Participate in Legal and Compliance Department and business meetings.
Research, draft memoranda and prepare PowerPoint presentations related to legal research and related projects as requested
Assist in review of complaints and preparation of reports
Update and maintain various legal data bases.
Draft transactional documents
Work with Manager to ensure that all expectations and goals are being met. Ask questions as needed.
Complete all projects in a timely manner.
Comply with all ABC policies and procedures.
Make Final Presentation during Program Wrap-Up.
Provide feedback on the program and offer suggestions for improvement.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
Pursuing Juris Doctorate degree at an ABA accredited law school (with at least one year of law school completed).
Must possess excellent research and writing skills.
Intellectually curious and interested in software, fitness and/or financial services
Must be interested in working in a fast-paced, intellectually stimulating environment with professionals from multiple disciplines
Ability to work in a collaborative manner both within and outside the Law Department is critical to success.
Must be able to work independently, though support will be provided.
Interest in such areas as contracts, SAAS technology, corporate compliance, privacy, and payments processing.
A demonstrated ability to work efficiently, meet deadlines, and manage multi-dimensional projects in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to research and learn new concepts and legal issues quickly to facilitate problem solving.
Completed sophomore year of college.
Work Authorization: We cannot offer employer sponsorship at this time; candidates must be eligible to work in the US for full-time employment.
Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only and based on employees in the United States and may be different in other countries. Salaries are based upon candidate experience, qualifications, and location, as well as market and business considerations. The hourly rate for this role will be $22 USD. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses and commissions.
