Practice Area: Real Estate Capital Markets

Location: Washington, D.C.

Salary: $260,000 - $390,000, commensurate with experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package.

Job Description:

On behalf of our client, we are seeking a talented and driven associate to assume a pivotal role within their premier Real Estate Capital Markets group. The position offers the opportunity to manage a sophisticated caseload focused on the intricate financial and transactional aspects of commercial real estate. Daily responsibilities will involve structuring and negotiating sophisticated debt and equity financing arrangements, representing both institutional lenders and sophisticated borrowers. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in crafting intricate joint venture agreements and partnership structures, as well as overseeing high-value acquisitions and dispositions of commercial properties. This role provides exposure to a diverse array of asset classes, including office, multifamily, industrial, retail, and hospitality, demanding a versatile and commercially astute legal mind.


Qualifications:

  • A Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from a law school accredited by the ABA.
  • Must be admitted to and in good standing with the District of Columbia Bar, or have the ability to waive in promptly.
  • A minimum of three years of dedicated experience in a sophisticated transactional real estate practice, preferably at a large law firm.


Preferred Skills:

  • Demonstrated expertise in navigating the complexities of real estate finance, with experience on both the lender and borrower sides of transactions being highly advantageous.
  • A proven track record of drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex legal documents related to joint ventures, purchase and sale agreements, and financing.
  • Superior academic credentials and exceptional analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive and business-oriented approach to problem-solving.
