Job Description

Position Summary...This position is responsible for managing Walmart's legal counsel related to Ecommerce and Supply Chain matters. This position will also manage the WMUS Energy legal team. This position develops strategies, policies and procedures to ensure legal goals are met. This position leads and manages the Ecommerce and Supply Chain work within Legal by developing and leading an in-house organization of legal professionals to provide relevant legal assistance to the organization; overseeing management of outside counsel; and leading organizational initiatives. Minimizes Walmart's legal exposure by ensuring the Ecommerce and Supply Chain teams are in compliance with applicable US and international laws and regulations; ensuring strategic initiatives related to eCommerce, Supply Chain, and other innovation and transformation initiatives are adequately evaluated from a legal standpoint; and anticipating possible issues, challenges, and opportunities and working ahead of them to ensure Legal’s readiness. Provides legal subject matter expertise by advising the SVP & Chief Counsel, U.S. Retail Operations on a broad range of legal matters related to eCommerce and Supply Chain; leading the review and summation of contracts, terms, and conditions to ensure adherence to the highest legal standards; and monitoring all major court cases filed against or on behalf of Walmart and course-adjusting as needed. Key Priorities

  • Legal Strategies: Develops legal strategies, policies, and procedures related to eCommerce and Supply Chain for Walmart U.S. to ensure that established objectives are met for these functions in alignment with global legal strategies and policies. Provides legal advice related to government, various partnerships, business initiatives, and the changing retail industry.

  • Leading Legal Teams: Leads and manages the eCommerce and Supply Chain legal organization for Walmart by developing and leading an in-house organization of legal professionals focused on assigned areas of responsibility. Oversees the management of outside counsel. Leads organizational initiatives. This position will also lead the Walmart U.S. Energy legal team.

  • Risk Mitigation: Minimizes Walmart’s legal exposure by ensuring that eCommerce and Supply Chain business activities comply with applicable federal, state, and international laws and regulations. Ensures that eCommerce and Supply Chain-related initiatives are adequately evaluated from a legal standpoint. Anticipates possible issues, challenges, and opportunities and works ahead of them to ensure organizational readiness.

  • Counsel: Provides legal subject-matter expertise by advising the Legal hierarchy on a broad range of legal matters related to legal and risk issues in eCommerce and Supply Chain. Leads the review and summation of relevant contracts, terms, and conditions to ensure adherence to applicable legal standards. Monitors relevant developments and trends in eCommerce and Supply Chain enforcement and litigation.

The annual salary range for this position is $300,000.00-$525,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
