Hillis Clark Martin & Peterson P.S. is seeking a full-time legal assistant to support its high-volume real estate finance transactional practice. Candidates must be reliable and able to work as a part of a team; possess strong attention to detail and organizational skills; be able to work independently, exercise good judgment in prioritizing and managing multiple projects efficiently and with accuracy; and take pride in consistently delivering the highest quality work product.   


Primary Duties

  • Properly formatting, editing, comparing, proofreading, and finalizing loan and other financial documents.  
  • Completing conflicts checks, drafting and finalizing engagement letters, preparing and tracking trust authorizations, and opening new matters.  
  • Downloading external diligence and saving documents and other matter diligence to the document management system.   
  • Coordinate communication between attorneys and client contacts. 
  • Manage calendars of legal team members, including scheduling appointments, tracking deadlines, and following up as required on matters.  
  • Assisting attorneys with billing review; bar licensing; monitoring outstanding receivables and following up with clients as needed.  
  • Other duties as assigned. 
Requirements

  

Desired Qualifications

  • Minimum five years’ experience supporting transactional legal teams. 
  • Advanced computer skills including MS Office (in particular, MS Word and use of Styles) and .pdf applications. 
  • Excellent project management, organizational, and communication skills. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.   
  • High level of attention to detail. The work product and service of this legal assistant is part of the value we provide to our clients.  
  • Proficiency in document management organization and timekeeping systems. ProLaw experience is a plus. 
  • Ability to proactively identify and address needs, take initiative in managing projects, and keep matters moving forward to completion. Must be able to follow complex instructions and, at times, work within short deadlines.  

Compensation, Hybrid Work & Other Benefits

The estimated salary range for this role is $80,000-$115,000, depending on experience and qualifications, with bonus-earning potential and is based on the desired experience range at the time of this posting. This position is eligible for hybrid work. We strongly encourage a minimum of one day per week worked in our office, preferably Tuesdays. Business needs may necessitate different or additional in-office days beyond our policy. Our hybrid work policies are subject to change depending on firm and practice needs.
