Director of Marketing & Business Development 

Funds and Investments Practice

A leading global law firm with a top-tier funds/investments practice is seeking a Director of Marketing and Business Development to support the growth and positioning of its private investment fund services. The firm advises many of the world’s most prominent private equity sponsors, asset managers, and institutional investors on fund formation, regulatory matters, and ongoing operations across a wide range of strategies and asset classes. Known for its market leadership, high-volume deal flow, and deep industry relationships, the firm offers a dynamic platform for a senior marketing and BD professional to drive strategic initiatives, enhance client engagement, and support the continued expansion of a marquee practice within the alternative assets space.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the execution of marketing and business development strategies for a globally recognized Funds/Investments practice, with a focus on driving growth, expanding client relationships, and increasing market visibility.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of private investment fund structures, industry trends, and key developments within the asset management space, as well as how the practice fits into the broader firm platform.
  • Apply knowledge of emerging AI tools — including generative AI, predictive analytics, and automation — to enhance marketing effectiveness, improve targeting, generate insights, and strengthen client engagement strategies.
  • Serve as a project liaison between the Client Relations team and the broader Marketing & Business Development department to advance new business initiatives, tools, and processes.
  • Contribute to strategic planning efforts by aligning marketing deliverables with firm wide goals and practice-specific growth targets.
  • Conduct research and analysis on companies, individuals, markets, and competitors to surface actionable business development opportunities with existing and prospective clients.
  • Create high-quality marketing materials, pitch decks, and client-facing collateral that reflect the brand, voice, and value proposition of the practice.
  • Collaborate closely with peers across practice groups, industry teams, and administrative departments to ensure integrated marketing support.
  • Lead the planning and execution of practice-specific events, conference sponsorships, and thought leadership campaigns that drive business development outcomes.
  • Identify and evaluate strategic opportunities for external visibility through rankings, directories, and targeted profile-raising efforts.
  • Serve as a senior member of a high-performing global team, balancing hands-on execution with strategic leadership and cross-functional coordination.
  • Lead and mentor a team of direct reports, fostering a collaborative, proactive, and agile working environment that supports responsiveness and excellence across time zones.

Professional Experience & Qualifications

  • 15+ years of professional experience with a background in investment management, financial services, private equity.
  • Strong technical proficiency and familiarity with various market intelligence and research platforms and tools such as Salesforce CRM, experience management, Microsoft Office Suite, etc.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, including the ability to prioritize and execute a diverse range of tasks with a high level of attention to detail.

Salary

Salary is competitive, depending on experience.
