Director of Business Development and Marketing

We are working on behalf of a leading Am Law 200 firm with over 300 attorneys across 13 offices to recruit a Director of Business Development & Marketing. The Director will drive firmwide business development and marketing initiatives in alignment with the firm’s strategic goals. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), this position leads a team of practice liaisons and collaborates directly with department chairs, business unit leaders, and professional staff across the firm.

Key Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership & Strategic Planning: Lead and develop a business development team, execute strategic plans aligned with firm goals, and foster a culture of collaboration and accountability.
• Pitch, Proposal & RFP Oversight: Oversee RFPs, pitches, and proposals, streamline processes and templates, and coach attorneys and teams through pursuit strategies.
• Business Development & Market Insight: Advise practices on growth strategies, collaborate with attorneys to develop tailored BD plans, and analyze market trends to identify opportunities.
• Events, Integration & Budget Management: Lead strategic events and sponsorships, support lateral attorney integration, and oversee budgeting and resource allocation.

Credentials and Expertise:

• Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree is required; an MBA or JD is preferred.
• Experience: A minimum of 10 years of business development, marketing, or related experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services setting.
• Proven experience leading and mentoring teams, with strong project and people management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic business development initiatives that drive measurable results.

Salary Range: $185,000-$225,000 based on experience and qualifications.
