Northrop Grumman’s Law Department is currently seeking a Corporate Counsel, Information Governance who will be responsible for providing guidance and leadership on a wide range of legal issues relating to information governance. This attorney will report to the Assistant General Counsel, Intellectual Property, Technology and Information Law.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Providing thought leadership, driving development and implementation of procedures and strategy on information governance topics including data protection and governance, artificial intelligence, privacy law, and protection of government information
- Providing strategic counseling to business partners in collaboration with other in-house IP attorneys for enterprise level and customer-facing issues
- Monitoring developments in policy, legal and regulatory requirements in information governance areas and advising business partners on best practices
- Collaborating with other attorneys and business partners on issues related to cybersecurity, digital environments, digital engineering, and software strategy
- Supporting Corporate Office functions such as Communications on issues related to trademarks, brand management, advertising, marketing, and consultant and supplier agreements
- Establishing regular meeting rhythms to facilitate communication with stakeholders, seek input and provide guidance
- Developing and conducting enterprise-wide training on information governance topics
We are seeking a candidate with the following background:

Basic Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor degree and bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- Active state bar membership
- At least 8 years’ experience in information governance disciplines including intellectual property (e.g., patent law, IP transactions) cybersecurity, or privacy law at a law firm, government, or as in-house counsel
- Experience working closely with other lawyers, technologists and business leaders on information governance issues
- U.S. citizenship required. Candidates must have the ability to obtain a DOD Secret level security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with U.S. government contract intellectual property regulations (FAR and DFARS)
- Active DoD Secret level security clearance
