Summary of Job Responsibilities:
The paralegal is responsible for assisting the Chief Compliance officer in preparing and organizing various legal documents, including but not limited to applications, requests for proposals, documentation relating to employee matters, and contracts. Specific tasks include summarizing matters and preparing reports for senior leadership, drafting legal documents, preparing and filing documents, and organizing and archiving documentation.
The paralegal will also assist in the company’s legal and regulatory compliance, accreditation documentation and licensing matters. The paralegal is expected to have extensive knowledge of applicable laws and regulatory requirements, company policy and procedures, key contracts and accreditation standards. The paralegal will assist in the organization’s overall compliance approach that supports employees. This includes multiple approaches to ensure that employees are both informed of laws, regulations, policies, procedures and expectations and also supported in solutions to achieve compliance and ensure continuous quality improvement. This requires being both a creative thinker and influential collaborator.

Skillsets Needed:
- Understanding of MPA operations
- Understanding of employment laws, including unemployment law requirements and workers compensation requirements
- Understanding of laws and regulations applicable to educational institutions
- Understanding of laws and regulations applicable to residential treatment institutions
- Understanding of laws and regulations regarding confidentiality including understanding and respecting privacy needs
- Knowledge of applicable accreditation/regulation standards
- Knowledge of company policy
- Strong writing skills
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong organizational skills:
- Execute and/or assist with special projects as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelors (Preferred)
- Paralegal Certificate (Preferred)
- Prior experience (Preferred)
Other Requirements:
- Knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook systems
- Ability to utilize a fax machine, phone system, and other office materials as necessary for the position
- Ability to respond quickly to phone calls, text messages, and emails
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as directions, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Responds to needs of the organization in a friendly, courteous manner.
- Flexible availability which includes Monday through Friday 9am-5pm at minimum
- Authorized to work in the United States (Required).
