Description

Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren s.c. is currently seeking a Paralegal to join our Fiduciary Litigation team, part of our Trusts & Estates department in our Milwaukee office. Our Fiduciary Litigation attorneys represent corporate fiduciaries, individuals, and charitable organizations in their capacities as trustees, personal representatives, agents under powers of attorney, guardians, beneficiaries, and/or other interested parties to resolve a broad range of trust, estate and probate disputes involving complex legal and personal issues. 

This position will involve providing high-level support to attorneys handling complex fiduciary litigation matters, including but not limited to breach of fiduciary duty claims, marital property disputes and will and trust contests. This role requires strong litigation skills, excellent organizational ability, and an understanding of probate and trust law.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Conduct legal research and summarize relevant case law, statutes, and court rules. 

· Prepare various probate and trust documents and accountings.

· Interact with various external sources such as financial institutions. 

· Manage and organize large volumes of case documents, including electronic discovery (eDiscovery).

· Prepare, issue, and manage subpoenas to third parties.

· Coordinate and schedule depositions, court hearings, mediations, and client meetings.

· Monitor and manage case deadlines and court filings, ensuring compliance with local rules and procedures.

Requirements

Education: The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree. Paralegal certificate is a plus.


Other:

· One to three years of paralegal experience. 

· Must have exceptional organizational skills, strong attention to detail with the ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines.

· Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills. 

· Must be an independent thinker and self-starter.

· Must have strong legal research skills including experience using Westlaw.

· Must have basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel and the intellectual curiosity and willingness to learn and use new computer programs.


Physical Demands and/or Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to frequently use a keyboard, calculator, and telephone. Frequent sitting, walking, talking, hearing, and occasionally stand, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, lift (20 lbs.), and an ability to adjust vision for close vision work.
