L3Harris Technologies is seeking an accomplished and visionary Senior Principal, Counsel, to lead our global legal team. The ideal candidate will be a strategic partner to the legal leadership team, providing expert legal advice and support on a wide range of complex legal and business issues. This role requires exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to navigate a dynamic and highly regulated industry.
Essential Functions:
- Lead and manage the global legal department, including hiring, mentoring, and developing a high-performing team of legal professionals.
- Advise on corporate governance matters, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and corporate policies.
- Oversee the drafting, review, and negotiation of complex contracts, agreements, and other legal documents to protect the company's interests.
- Provide legal guidance on mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and other strategic transactions.
- Manage and mitigate legal risks by developing and implementing effective legal strategies and risk management processes.
- Oversee litigation and dispute resolution matters, working closely with external counsel as needed.
- Ensure compliance with international, federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including those related to export controls, government contracts, and data privacy.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement company policies and procedures that align with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Represent the company in interactions with regulatory authorities, industry groups, and other external stakeholders.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on legal topics and best practices to foster a culture of compliance and ethical behavior.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 15 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 19 years of prior related experience.
- 15 years of relevant legal experience, including significant experience in a senior leadership role within a corporate legal department or law firm.
- Extensive knowledge of corporate law, commercial contracts, regulatory compliance, mergers and acquisitions, and litigation.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex legal matters and leading a high-performing legal team.
